Past prjects
Here is another project that had been long due for completion. I had the opportunity to put in one of the strongest epoxy floor coatings in the industry. Thanks to Harvey and Wayne at Durall Epoxy Floors in Minnesota. The final product is a quartz floor epoxy. Said to withstand the test of time and most anything you could throw at it.
Here  on the right, I had begun the prep-work on the slab. Skim coating the major defects with a vinyl patch. The relief joints have been filled both with vinyl patch and Dura Poxy crack grout.
Here above,  I had scraped and sanded,  using a 17" floor maintainer. After vacuuming up the dust and debris, I washed it with a cleaning and degreasing solution.
After the degreaser is rinsed, I then etch the surface with a mild muriatic acid solution. This takes a few times scrubbing and vacuuming up to make sure it has been rinsed completely.
Now the area is prepared for epoxy resins.
Now that I had allowed proper drying time. I taped off the perimeter with 3" tape. I used the Crack fill epoxy to feather out the original patching and grout lines, as seen above. Also the hair line cracks throughout have been filled as much as possible.
Then the fun begins.... I try to strategically lay epoxy and quartz down in a motion towards the door exiting the shed. As I lay the quartz down I use a long push broom to help even out the areas as much as possible.  This will need to set for the next 8-12 hours before the top coat.
OOPS!!
Here I reached the point of no return, as seen in the first picture.... This rookie mistake cost me almost $200 and an additional weeks time on finishing the job.  Although the first batch of epoxy seemed to allow enough time for a two gallon mix, this time the epoxy kicked off and hardened with only a third of the way through. Lesson to be learned here is just mix a gallon at a time, or at least, a second set of hands on the job couldn't hurt.
And so, with that in the past.... The final product is wonderful. A complete floor coating that looks to even hold off on some of the large imperfections within the slab. I highly recommend this product,(Dura Poxy) to anyone wanting a durable floor epoxy. This customer preferred a non-slip finish so quartz was thrown into the final coat as well. The quartz is a custom blend color "Swank" mixed by Dura Poxy Floor coatings.

This was one of my favorite projects, a custom sized Halltree. Made to fit within a limited amount of space in the clients utility room, that I had just remodel as well. I named the piece "13", after its 13 wood pegs I used in the joinery of her rails. This also became the first piece to wear my marquetry label. (shown below.) This was inlayed in her back center panel. She now is in place and enjoyed by my client and friends.
